Building With Candlestick Precision

Our Build Philosophies

At Candlestick Precision, we are passionate about producing the absolute best product possible with every gun we build. The term good enough does not exist in our shop. This starts from before anything gets signed and exists for the life of the build. While we tend to focus on precision builds, we can and have done multiple builds down different paths. Examples range from SBR AR pistols, to detachable barrel gas guns that will fit in a 12" med-pack, to ultralight hunting rifles.

We enjoy the opportunities to take on special and unique projects, and are always up for a challenge. This provides us with a platform to showcase our skills and experience gained from other avenues in the firearms world and incorporate new features, or attributes, or performance not commonly found in that specific sector. This results in direct benefits to our customers.

Every project is unique, and custom tailored to the customers specifications, ensuring that the finished product we deliver meets every standard and parameter agreed upon at the official commissioning of the build.

Today, we continue to uphold our commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service.

What to Expect

When you build with us there is no such thing as a "Custom Edition". Every build is completely custom from the ground up. Yes, we do tend to use certain parts from build to build. However, that is more based on quality and customer requirements, and not because we made a bulk order of a specific product. We don't buy premade uppers when building gas guns and add parts to it. We don't even buy complete spring and pin kits because they are usually filled with a bunch of cheap generic parts.

Every component and the related small parts are ordered individually down to the detents, springs, and fasteners. We use only high quality components from the ground up and once they arrive they are all fine tuned. Weather it be lapping or smoothing or polishing, even the parts that most people consider insignificant get full attention and hand fitting like a Swiss watch.

All bolt guns have their custom actions disassembled, the firing pins/ springs/ cocking pieces get inspected and refined individually. The bolt lugs get checked and lapped for proper full engagement. the cocking piece and ramp get lapped and smoothed. The entire custom action gets further refined and smoothed until we are satisfied that it is in the absolute best possible condition to perform to the best functionality and consistency that it was designed for.

This attention carries on to the rest of the rifle and includes the same focus on every other aspect of the build. Including the trigger, magazine, stock/ chassis, scope rings/ mounts, scope mounting and alignment, ergonomic adjustments, even the bipod or any other accessories and mounts.

Once all of this is done, depending on if there is any Cerakote work to be performed, we move on to testing and tuning. Each build has a proper barrel break in done in house. Simultaneously we start tuning and refining the build to function exactly to the specifications that were defined. The optics (if equipped) get trued and zeroed. Chronograph measurements are taken. Fired brass is inspected and several rounds are cataloged for the build in the event that we do custom ammunition development for the rifle in the future. And once we are completely confident in the proper function and accuracy that we require, we will hand over to our customer the finished product for final approval.

The Process

While everything we have discussed so far may seem slightly overwhelming, rest assured that the process on the customer end is intended to be as streamlined and painless as possible. You of course are welcome to be as involved or uninvolved as you choose. Below is what to expect as to the overall process:

Initial meeting/ discussion-

During the initial meeting we will discuss the overall design parameters of the build. This entails things like the type of build, intended type of use, cartridge, optics, type of finish, performance expectations, accuracy expectations, etc.

We have a build spec sheet to help smooth and speed this process along.

Next-

We do the research. This is all on our end. We check part availability, we run software simulations, and double check that we can deliver what it is that the customer is requesting. Once we have confirmed that the components are available and that we can achieve the expected performance requirements we move onto...

Deposit-

This is where pen meets paper. once both sides are in agreement we will sign the build agreement and take a deposit. The deposit amount varies from build to build, but the general rule of thumb is that it covers the cost of the parts/ components. At this point the parts are ordered immediately and anything that needs to be done for the build in the background is done while waiting on deliveries.

Assembly-

As the parts arrive the tuning and fitting and refinement starts upon possession. We try to eliminate as much delay in the delivery of the project as possible based on the aspects that we have control over. It's important to understand that being custom there are ocassionally delays in avalibility, or shipping, or other random things that are out of the scope of our control. We do our best to keep you abreast of any delays or issues as they arise to remain as proactive as possible. Once assembly and testing and tuning are complete, we will schedule a time for you to come approve and take delivery of your finished rifle.

Delivery-

While not always possible, we prefer to take you to the range with your completed build which is only 5 minutes away to walk you through the rifle and have you shoot it personally with us. If any last minute changes or adjustments need to be made, this is when they are done. Once back to the shop assuming all parties are satisfied, we fill out the standard background check forms and take the final completion payment. At this point you are now the proud owner of your custom rifle.

After-

We fully stand behind our product.

Should you have any issues whatsoever with your rifle we are standing by and will handle anything that arises as promptly as possible. This is not something that expires. You have our support for the life of the rifle.
